Lavell Crawford: A Born Performer
From an early age, Lavell Crawford knew he was destined to entertain. His journey began at First Baptist Church of Creve Coeur, where he first took the stage as a singer. While he was captivated by the energy of the audience, he soon realized that singing wasn't his true calling—so he gave rapping a try.
Everything changed when Lavell witnessed the legendary Sinbad perform live at his college. That moment lit a fire in him. He traded in his mic for a mic stand and stepped into the world of stand-up comedy, making his television debut on Comic View. Audiences later crowned him “The People’s Champ” during his unforgettable run on Last Comic Standing.
Television and film fans fell in love with Lavell all over again as the beloved Huell on AMC’s Breaking Bad, and he brought laughs as the not-so-scary Dan in Netflix’s Hubie Halloween.
A career highlight was working alongside the late, great Robin Williams on The Crazy Ones—sharing scenes with both a comedy legend and Victoria’s Secret models was an experience Lavell cherishes. Another dream came true when he joined Adam Sandler in The Ridiculous 6, bringing his signature humor to the big screen once again.
